why mongoosesi?

a mongoose is an agile, grizzled viverine which generally preys on dangerous vermin - i saw this well analogizing a portal for open source projects and solutions: its open source model, with its propensity toward extreme programming, represents agility in software development. At the same time, 'grizzled' is an appropriate adjective as this level of development requires a considerable body of experience. :-) mongoosesi represents 'mongoose science' - the open source projects from this portal represent scientific research more than product.

i initially considered the portuguese forms and meanings of 'mongoose' - mongolóide, mangusto - but they are easily confusable with other terms in many indo-european languages.
