Google in your pants?

One of my main concerns with the Google Cloud has been how Google mines your cloud data for AdSense. To put it bluntly, I hear a lot of talk about how one radge or another is "comfortable" with that. I'm certain the fanboys will be "comfortable" with whatever Google may do, yet I would love to see even the most devoted acolyte's reaction when something they hold as confidential ends up getting loose through Google, or worse, something unsubstantiated ends up attached to their name because of Google's blind mining (e.g. all that wonderful spam and phishing encountered with gmail accounts). Now let's take that a step further with documents. It seems a bit too smarmy for me, like how banks claim not to hold you responsible for credit card fraud (read a blog on someone's experience with fraud or identity theft to get an idea).

This NYT blog Bits post covers a number of concerns - not only does Google mine your data, but Google makes it a little too easy to share your data. Oh dear....
